“Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries.” Dalai Lama

In the words of the Dalai Lama “Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries.  Without them humanity cannot survive.” How important it is for us to pass this understanding onto our children, the future generation.

    Hi all,
The following words of wisdom were sent to me from my friend Carolynn Milne.
“Love is giving, and in giving we also receive. No one is immune to love and no one can resist it. We all need and crave love.
Love is part of the Divine. It is also part of who and what you are. It is as natural as breathing, so why do so many have problems with it? What goes wrong? Love goes wrong when it becomes conditional.

Humans are conditioned from birth, and one of the weapons used to condition
is love. Many parents remove their love from their children if they are
misbehaving and reinstate it only on the condition of improved behaviour.

Their children learn very early to cut their love from their family to get their
own way, and isn’t that what their parents have taught them?

Yes, children need discipline and boundaries, but not conditioning.
People do need to redefine their boundaries from time to time,
    but without withdrawing their love.

Try to work in unconditional love, with your heart open and full of grace.
If there isn’t enough love in your life try giving some out.
Only in giving can we receive. Only in loving can we be loved.
Only in loving unconditionally can we be loved unconditionally.”

Perhaps Mr Lama would like to expand on his ideas ?

Isn’t this so true, yet we keep on forgetting . . .
